Do not take yourself so seriously. Treat life as a game. Sometimes you lose a draw, the dice doesn’t fall quite as you want it to, and you get angry and upset. 10 minutes later, the rage is gone. Sometimes players act unfairly and you take it personally, lose your composure. Aren’t you silly? Laugh at yourself, smile at the vicissitudes of your moods, always shifting and transforming. Integrate the small moves into the grand picture. Stop clenching your teeth, stop being so serious. What is the point of winning if you lose your ability to smile? To forget yourself in the image of a sunset, in a painting, in the hug of a friend? Have your amibition, keep it close to you, work hard and disciplined at your goals and then: breathe. Put down the pen and go for.a walk. Look at the sky. Read a silly novel. The knoweldge you acquire through rigour needs time to settle. Sometimes, the genius ideas come to you while you are playing with a child, while you are stirring dough for cookies, or cleaning the bathroom.

I lost you
